Ridvan Yilmaz has completed his £2M Rangers exit

Gambar artikel:Ridvan Yilmaz has completed his £2M Rangers exit

Ridvan Yilmaz has completed his departure from Rangers to Besiktas for around £2M and the loss stings. Rangers spent £6M to bring him in from Turkey but recoup only a third of that fee. The Turkish full back never let himself down and carried himself with dignity but his time at Ibrox brings little success. Ridvan Yilmaz leaves Rangers for Besiktas.

He arrived as a young prospect with promise yet injuries wrecked any chance of him settling into a rhythm. Rangers supporters never saw a consistent run of form because his fitness broke down too often. Despite that he showed character, worked hard in training and never once complained about his situation. Importantly he learned English from scratch after arriving with not a word of it. That alone shows his professionalism and his desire to adapt.

Rangers expected more from him on the pitch but his commitment stayed clear throughout. In truth he leaves a man rather than the boy who first came from Turkey. Besiktas now welcome him back with open arms and he will hope to reignite a career that never sparked in Scotland. For Rangers however the financial side makes for grim reading. A £6M outlay has turned into a £2M recovery.

Fans cannot ignore the wider picture. Why did Rangers spend that money on a random import when Josh Doig waited at Hibs? The Scotsman would have cost far less, knew the league and needed no adaptation period. Instead the club chased a glamour signing and threw away millions. That moment summed up recruitment at Ibrox for the past five years. Time after time decision makers wasted cash on the wrong targets while obvious domestic options slipped by.

The issue never sat with Yilmaz himself because he gave his best and kept his head high. The issue lies squarely with those who gambled so much of the budget on a player who always carried risk. Rangers must reset how they identify talent and act ruthlessly. They cannot keep splashing on projects who fail to adapt or ignoring clear homegrown solutions. Ridvan Yilmaz leaves Rangers for Besiktas.

Ridvan Yilmaz leaves without blame but Rangers must face the truth. This loss highlights another failure in planning and the board cannot allow it again. Supporters demand smarter business and sharper choices. Without that the cycle of wasted millions will repeat and the gap to the top will keep growing.
