The Italian technician has been clear in what he wants – a strong, powerful midfielder to pair alongside Manu Kone.

The first name on Roma’s shortlist is that of Richard Rios.

According to Leggo, Rios has overtaken Matt O’Riley in Roma’s preferences.

The Colombian midfielder’s value is estimated at 30 million.

Roma have gone as far as offering 22 million and will try to soon raise their proposal to secure Rios before the competition in the form of Inter and Fiorentina.

The first alternative to Rios is Lens midfielder Neil El Aynaoui for whom Roma do not wish to spend more than 20 million.
