Breaking up his spell with the national team in North Africa, Ait-Nouri flew into Manchester on Friday evening before spending the weekend completing the various processes around his transfer from Wolves, before re-joining the national side over in Sweden.

The 23-year-old is expected to be one of several new arrivals through the doors of the Manchester City first-team, with AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders also completing his medical and signing a deal with the club on Sunday, while Lyon’s Rayan Cherki remains a firm priority.

With a formal announcement of the now-former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender expected imminently, details surrounding the arrival of the defender have already started to emerge on social media.

According to the information of Algerian journalist Athmane Taibi, Manchester City’s brand new left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri will become their new number 21.

The Algerian will follow the likes of Ferran Torres and Sergio Gomez in recent seasons to have worn the iconic shirt, made highly notable by Spanish football and Premier League legend David Silva during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

It is further detailed that City chartered a private jet for Ait-Nouri to take the Algerian to Stockholm in order to link-up with his national team colleagues ahead of their international friendly against Sweden.

The widespread belief is that Rayan Ait-Nouri will return to Manchester later this week to join up with his new teammates and prepare to jet out to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup across the course of the summer.

The same plan is likely to be in place for Tijjani Reijnders, who has now also returned to join his national side and prepare for the Netherlands’ FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Malta on Tuesday night.

For now, it remains to be seen when matters concerning Lyon and Rayan Cherki could step up, with supporters eagerly anticipating the arrival of a player viewed as one of the hottest talents in European football at present.
