Manchester United have set a £40 million price tag on Marcus Rashford, signaling a significant shift in the forward’s future at Old Trafford, according to Daily Mail.
Currently on loan at Aston Villa, Rashford’s tenure under United manager Ruben Amorim appears to be nearing its end, with the club open to offers from other interested parties.
Rashford’s loan spell at Villa has been productive, contributing four goals and six assists in 17 appearances.
However, a hamstring injury has prematurely ended his season, and he is ineligible to play against United in the final match of the campaign.
As per the report, despite Villa’s option to purchase him for £40 million, the clause does not grant them exclusivity, allowing other clubs to match the offer.
Barcelona have expressed interest in signing Rashford but are reportedly unwilling to meet the £40 million valuation.
The Catalan club are exploring alternative arrangements, such as a loan deal or a reduced transfer fee.
Rashford is said to be open to a move to Spain, even considering a pay cut to facilitate the transfer.

Rashford’s relationship with Amorim has reportedly deteriorated, making a return to United unlikely.
The club is already planning for life without him, targeting replacements such as Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
Rashford, who once promised a lot and was on his way to become a Man United legend, is now nearing the end of his time at the club he supported as a young boy.
With United looking to make big changes in the attacking department, it appears like the future of a lot of players at the club is uncertain.
The likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee may either be sold or have to play second choice to the new attackers that the club are planning to sign.
