Despite his family’s ties with the Rossoneri, the 23-year-old failed to secure regular first-team football at San Siro.

Therefore, he ended his lifelong association with Milan in the summer to join Monza.

Daniel Maldini spent the second half of last season on loan at Stadio Brianteo, hence Adriano Galliani’s decision to sign him permanently.

Indeed, the versatile forward has thrived at Monza, becoming one of Serie A’s most exciting prospects.

His rise to prominence hasn’t gone unnoticed.

In addition to generating interest across the country, he has earned a place in the Italy national team.

Luciano Spalletti handed Maldini his maiden senior call-up last month.

Moreover, he has included the prodigious youngster in his squad for November’s UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Italy will meet Belgium and France down the final stretch of an enthralling Group A2.

Inter Milan Face Stiff Competition for Sought-After Monza Star Daniel Maldini

It’s no secret that Inter are contemplating a bid for Maldini.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have set their sights on the Monza ace amid his impressive form in Serie A.

However, they’re not alone in the race.

Inter’s bitter rivals Milan are also in the mix, aware they made a grave mistake by letting Maldini leave in the first place.

But the Milan clubs will likely have to fend off other domestic adversaries, such as Atalanta, Juventus, and Fiorentina.

Maldini has become a wanter property, with Monza expected to significantly profit from his future sale.

Indeed, they signed him for peanuts only a few months ago.

Now that he has a host of admirers across Serie A, Galliani must be rubbing his hands.
