Chelsea are looking for a new striker this summer and Victor Osimhen remains on their list of options according to reports.

The Blues are in desperate need for an alternative to Nicolas Jackson and paid the ultimate price for not addressing the issue in January.

Jackson is expected to return after the international break which will be a big boost, and Pedro Neto has been deployed down the middle over the last few games.

Osimhen remains on Chelsea’s list of options

The Blues have been strongly linked with Liam Delap and are said to be leading the race for the 22-year-old, whilst they are also believed to hold interest in Benjamin Sesko.

Football London have reported Osimhen remains on Chelsea’s list of striker options for the summer window, with Viktor Gyokeres also on that list.

The Blues pursued Osimhen for the majority of last summer, but were unable to agree a deal with the 26-year-old and he joined Galatasaray on season loan.

The Nigerian already has 26 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions this season, and Claude Makelele believes he would be the best option for Chelsea.

John Obi Mikel has stated a deal would be easy to get done were Chelsea to decide to reignite their interest in the striker.

Osimhen is thought to have a release clause of around £63m, but if the Blues do move they will face competition from other clubs.

Manchester United have been linked with the Nigeria international, whilst Arsenal have also been linked in the past.

At a bare minimum you would expect the Blues will have to offer Champions League football, whilst they would also have to go outside their wage structure unless Osimhen has a change of heart and lowers his demands.
