Since the start of the 2024-25 season, FC Barcelona have been facing problems with the registration of the two new additions they made to their team in the last summer transfer window, i.e., Pau Victor and Dani Olmo.
La Liga believes the two players’ licenses with the Blaugrana club have expired, and the matter is currently being fought out in legal courts between the two sides.
In this regard, Mundo Deportivo reports that there has been a significant development that could mean these two players will be able to play for Barcelona till the end of this season.
This latest development has been that the Administrative-Litigation Court has declared itself to be incompetent to hear this case, and this case has now been referred to the National Court.
The National Court will now make a ruling on this case once it has received everything related to the matter. Naturally, the case can go either in favor of the Blaugranes or against them. However, by the time this court is able to gain all the relevant information and make a decision, the season might already be over.
The Administrative-Litigation Court, which has now declared itself incompetent to hear the case, had rejected a precautionary appeal by La Liga to halt the registration of these two players on April 10th. This registration had, in turn, been granted because of CSD’s decision to accept an appeal filed by Barcelona on 7th January.
This latest development can be a significant one for the Catalan club, especially keeping in view the importance Dani Olmo has gained in Hansi Flick’s plans. Only in the last match against Mallorca, he was decisive as he scored the only goal of the game, and his presence can again prove to be pivotal as Barcelona take on Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday.
