Red Star Belgrade youngster Andrija Maksimović has on Tuesday fired something of a warning shot to Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal.
This comes ahead of the impending meeting between the pair on the pitch.
Barcelona will of course make the trip to Serbia’s capital tomorrow night, for a Champions League showdown with the aforementioned Red Star.
17-year-old Maksimović, long making a name for himself as a star in the making in his home country, is expected to play a prominent role for the hosts in the clash.
And, in efforts to guide Red Star towards what would be a major upset in Belgrade, the attacking midfielder intends to outshine the player widely considered to be the game’s very best young player.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Andrija Maksimović declared:
“Lamine is a great player. We met in the European Championship. Tomorrow, I will go out on the field and show that I am better than him. There is also Cubarsí. They are both my age. I hope we can exchange shirts after the match.”
