An insight into the plans of the Real Madrid board to secure a deal for Arsenal star William Saliba down the line has on Friday been provided.

The name of defender Saliba has of course proven a prominent one in the Spanish media headlines for some time now.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Frenchman has been identified as something of a dream signing on the part of Florentino Pérez and co.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at centre-back, Saliba, owing to his age and ability alike, has been identified as the ideal profile.

In their search for a deal, Real Madrid consider this coming summer an unlikely one for as much to develop, owing to the fact that the stopper has two years remaining on his terms with Arsenal.

Should Saliba hold off on extending as much for the next 12 months, though, Los Blancos will be ready to jump into action.

As per a report from The Athletic:

‘Real Madrid are deploying their usual transfer strategy: staying close to the player discreetly and preparing the ground to try and sign him in 2026 for an affordable amount or in 2027 as a free agent.’
