Real Madrid youngster will join Euro giants in €5 million deal, medicals today – Romano | OneFootball

As reported on Tuesday night, Real Madrid and SL Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of left-back Rafael Obrador to the Portuguese outfit.

The operation was executed as part of the negotiations between the two clubs over a deal for Alvaro Carreras, with his return to the Santiago Bernabeu now closer than ever.

€5 million for Obrador

Now, ahead of Obrador’s transfer to Benfica, Fabrizio Romano has come forward with more details of the agreement.

As per the Italian transfer expert, Real Madrid will receive a transfer fee of €5 million for the 21-year-old left-back from the Portuguese giants.

In addition, the Spanish capital heavyweights will also retain a future buyback clause for their academy product.

In fact, Obrador will travel to Lisbon today to complete his medicals with Benfica, having given permission by Real Madrid to go ahead.

Obrador signed for Real Madrid in 2020, arriving from the Mallorca youth academy. He went on to make more than 60 appearances for the Castilla team but never made his senior debut.

Last season, the 21-year-old left-back was loaned out to Deportivo La Coruna, where he played 34 times. Now, he will look to establish himself as a regular with Benfica once the move is complete.

This development also brings the signing of Alvaro Carreras to Los Blancos closer, with the two clubs being very close to sealing an agreement.
