Real Madrid youngster Nico Paz is expected to leave the club this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder, who has been with the club for several years, seems poised to make a permanent move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Among the clubs interested in signing him are Cesc Fabregas’ Como, as well as Girona and Alaves, who have already inquired about the terms of the deal.

One of the critical elements of this transfer is Real Madrid’s insistence on including a buy-back clause.

This is a common strategy the club uses when dealing with the transfer of its youth players, allowing them to retain future control over promising talents.

The idea behind this clause is that if Nico develops into a player of the calibre that Real Madrid could use in the future, they would have the option to bring him back to the club.

However, this specific condition is believed to be one of the reasons why the deal has not yet been finalised, as negotiations are ongoing to ensure all parties are satisfied with the terms.

No place for Nico in Real Madrid

The decision to move Nico away from Real Madrid comes as no surprise given the intense competition for a starting spot in the first team.

With established players like Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, and Aurelien Tchouameni among others occupying key midfield roles, it has become increasingly difficult for younger players like him to break into the starting lineup.

Despite his potential, the 19-year-old midfielder is unlikely to get the minutes he desires at Real Madrid, making a move away from the club a logical step in his career.

During Real Madrid’s pre-season tour in the United States, Nico was given a chance to showcase his abilities in the absence of some of the team’s key players.

However, despite the reduced competition, he only managed to accumulate 92 minutes of playing time across three games.

This limited action suggests that manager Carlo Ancelotti may not see Nico as part of his immediate plans, further reinforcing the likelihood of his departure.
