Attention turns towards ending the season strongly ahead of a new era under the management of Xabi Alonso. On Saturday, Real confirmed their first signing of the summer with the capture of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth. Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to follow imminently.

Sevilla have also endured a torrid campaign. After three consecutive top-four finishes between 2020 and 2022, the Andalusians are 14th and heading toward a second straight bottom half finish in La Liga.

Carlo Ancelotti’s options at either end of the pitch remain depleted. Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz are all missing in the final third, so Kylian Mbappe could be supported by youngsters Arda Guler and Endrick.

Mbappe has 28 league goals for the season and is three clear of Robert Lewandowski in the race for the Pichichi Trophy. The France international also needs two goals to overhaul Viktor Gyokeres in the race for the European Golden Shoe, with the latter’s season concluding on Saturday. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is level with Mbappe in that pursuit.

Elsewhere, Aurelien Tchouameni returns from suspension and will likely line up in a defence that remains without Antonio Ruidger, Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal and David Alaba. Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is another ruled out.
