Real Madrid will not make impulsive decisions over January transfer plans – report | OneFootball

The Real Madrid administration are understandably worried about the team’s situation, especially after the back-to-back defeats to Barcelona and AC Milan.

Los Blancos have been cut open and exposed in recent games and it is clear that they are far from their best as every passing game exposes one new crack in the structure that initially appeared solid.

The team’s struggles have led to the club being linked with signings in the winter transfer window, but Florentino Perez is still against the idea of bringing players in midway through the campaign. The internal battle, thus, is between whether or not signings are required.

The litmus test

As revealed in a recent update by AS, the Real Madrid hierarchy are worried but not to the point where they feel an impulsive decision is mandated.

The Merengues are thus calm over their situation and confident that the squad has the quality required to turn the situation around.

The idea, thus, is to wait until the game against Liverpool at Anfield before making a decision.

With Osasuna coming up next and the international break following it, Real Madrid believe they have the space and time needed to heal and recover.

Following that, they also play Leganes before they travel to Anfield and thus see the UCL game to be the litmus test.

If the men in white collapse against the Premier League giants or struggle to keep up, the board will consider reinforcements in January. Else, the plan is to retain faith in the existing core until the summer.

As it stands, the limelight is on the right-back, centre-back and central midfield positions where the team has lacked sufficient depth and the required profiles.

Until a decision is made, young Jesus Fortea will be promoted to the first team as a stop-gap fix.
