Erling Haaland has been a player of interest for Real Madrid for a long time now, with the club having made an attempt to sign him in 2022 before he joined Manchester City.
Interest in the Norwegian international has persisted since, with the Merengues keeping tabs on his development at the Etihad while staying up-to-date about his contract situation and release clause.
Now, according to Defensa Central, the possibility of Erling Haaland leaving Manchester City next summer seem to be growing and Real Madrid are closely following the situation surrounding the Norwegian international.
Haaland is believed to have a release clause in his contract at the Etihad which can be activated from the summer of 2025, and the Cityzens could be preparing for such an eventuality.
In recent weeks, multiple reports have indicated that Pep Guardiola’s side are looking at Viktor Gyokeres, the current striker for Sporting CP for 2025.

If Manchester City end up signing Gyokeres, it will be because they are aware that, even if Haaland renews for one or two more years, the release clause in his contract means anything is possible.
To add to the intrigue, recent reports in England suggest that the Premier League champions are also monitoring Juventus centre-forward Dusan Vlahovic.
Haaland is believed to have always dreamt of playing in Spain and for Real Madrid, in particular, and his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, is keen to help facilitate the transfer, as per the report.
“There is the Premier League, and then there is Real Madrid. They each have something unique that makes them the dreams of footballers. Madrid has that magic. They have the Champions League,” Pimenta had said some time ago hinting that the Merengues may be the next step for the Norwegian.
Any move, however, could depend on a significant departure from Real Madrid’s current attacking line.
