Tensions are rising between Real Madrid and La Liga after the Spanish league refused to postpone the club’s opening fixture of the season against Osasuna.

The request was officially denied by the Single Judge of Competitions, meaning Xabi Alonso’s side will head into the new campaign with only 15 days of preparation.

This decision has sparked outrage from those within the club and across its official media outlet.

Real Madrid TV reacted strongly, with talk show hosts expressing disbelief and frustration at what they view as an unfair ruling that puts the team at a disadvantage before a ball is even kicked.

Frustration over scheduling and unfair treatment

Speaking during the broadcast, presenter Antonio Esteva did not hold back his opinion. “It is an unfair, illogical circumstance, and I was going to say another qualifier, but I better save it.

“You, who are the locomotive and the engine of this League, have to fight against all odds, not only against your rivals,” he said, making it clear that Real Madrid feel they are being unfairly treated despite being the league’s biggest global draw.

His comments were echoed and taken even further by Jesus Alcaide, director of Real Madrid TV. In a powerful statement, Alcaide said,

“Real Madrid is already starting in inferiority and we have seen how in previous years LaLiga’s schedules were used as a weapon of war.

“It is an attack against logic and against competition and confirms that this League is already adulterated. It is already born with dirt ahead of it.”

The frustration stems from a tight turnaround between competitive matches. Real Madrid will have only 40 days of rest from their last match against PSG to the opening game against Osasuna.

The feeling inside the club is clear that they believe they are once again being treated unfairly by La Liga’s decision-makers, and Real Madrid TV is leading the charge in making their anger public.
