Real Madrid training confirms double injury boost ahead of Osasuna | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid were on Wednesday afforded a double boost on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation of two players taking steps back towards competitive action.

First up, Federico Valverde, after being forced to sit out Real Madrid’s friendly victory over WSG Tirol on Tuesday, was this morning given the green light to rejoin group activities.

The Uruguayan, in turn, is expected to be fit and raring to go for Los Blancos’ La Liga season opener against Osasuna next week.

And adding to the positive news surrounding Valverde’s wellbeing was a similar update regarding Ferland Mendy.

Defender Mendy has for his part been sidelined since late last season, owing to a muscular injury suffered during the Copa del Rey final.

The Frenchman, though, was on Wednesday spotted back running on the grass for the first time, a significant step forward in his efforts to return to the pitch.
