Amid mixed reports of Real Madrid’s intentions in the transfer market next summer, Fichajes has recently claimed that Los Blancos are on the lookout for a new midfielder.
As a matter of fact, Real Madrid are ready to compete with Manchester City next summer, in the race to sign one of Europe’s best up and coming midfield talents.
The player in question is none other than Joao Neves, the former Benfica prodigy, who has enjoyed immense success since joining PSG last summer.
With 36 competitive appearances this season, Neves has become a key component in Luis Enrique’s midfield setup, impressing onlookers with his ability to control the tempo of the game.
Neves’ technical quality is also second to none in the PSG team, which is why both Man City and Real Madrid are interested in his services.

The report adds that Man City coach Pep Guardiola is looking to shore up the ranks in midfield, with Neves emerging as the ideal target.
As for Real Madrid, the reigning European champions have identified Neves as a potential replacement for Eduardo Camavinga.
Struggling with form and fitness this season, Camavinga has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu next summer, although no concrete reports have come to light.
Should Camavinga leave the Bernabeu next season, Real Madrid are likely to go after Joao Neves as a direct replacement.
That said, acquiring the services of the Portuguese international could be tricky as PSG won’t be too keen on offloading their star midfielder just a year after signing him.
Interestingly, PSG have emerged as one of the potential suitors for Camavinga next summer, so it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can work out a deal with the French champions.
