Real Madrid star to drop to bench for next international outing | OneFootball

A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is expected to drop out of his country’s starting XI on Monday night.

The player in question? Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé has seen his name take its place front and centre in the media headlines in France over the course of the last couple of days.

This comes after the 25-year-old – Les Bleus captain – toiled once more en route to a concerning 3-1 Nations League defeat at the hands of Italy.

In the midst of an equally hit-and-miss start to the campaign with Real Madrid, Mbappé, in turn, looks set to be ‘spared’ against Belgium on Monday night.

As per a report from L’Équipe, the expectation is that the former Paris Saint-Germain standout will drop to the bench later this evening, be it for reasons of rest, or simply to pull him momentarily out of the limelight.

Marcus Thuram, meanwhile, is the favourite to replace Mbappé in Didier Deschamps’ frontline.
