However, fast forward to present day, Tchouameni appears to be vindicating himself with some stellar performances in recent weeks. His most recent masterclass came in Real Madrid’s recent 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano.

He recorded eight recoveries, four interceptions, and won six duels. He was just as crucial in the Madrid derby against Atletico and solid against Betis and Girona.

The Frenchman’s physical presence, anticipation, and ability to distribute the ball have made him an indispensable figure in central midfield.

Tchouameni most comfortable in midfield

After initially operating as a centre-back in light of Real Madrid’s crisis, the Frenchman has once again gotten the opportunity to play in his natural role and he hasn’t disappointed at all.

Despite that, Tchouameni is ready to play in any position for the team. The midfielder has shown his versatility many times this season.

The 25-year-old stepped in as a centre-back when needed, notably against Real Sociedad, and delivered a strong defensive performance.

Tchouameni’s adaptability hasn’t gone unnoticed by Carlo Ancelotti, who often hails him for his personality and character.

The turnaround in Tchouameni’s fortune will likely have a positive impact on the club’s outlook on the player, potentially leading to the dissipation of all speculation surrounding his future in the coming summer.

Meanwhile, the Frenchman has also teamed up with Barcelona star Jules Kounde to sponsor a Kings League team in France.
