Real Madrid star Rodrygo, through his entourage, has opened negotiations over a potential summer move to England, with Liverpool.

That’s according to transfer insider Santi Aouna, who has on Tuesday provided the latest on the situation.

Speculation linking frontman Rodrygo with a potential Anfield switch has of course begun to mount over recent days.

This comes amid the understanding that, amid an ongoing search for a replacement for the wantaway Luis Díaz, the Brazilian has been earmarked as a leading target.

Rodrygo is no longer assured of a starting berth at Real Madrid, as evidenced by the Club World Cup, with a summer Real Madrid exit for the 24-year-old therefore not at all out of the question.

And as per a report from journalist Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, with as much in mind:

‘Liverpool, highly interested in Rodrygo, have taken a new step in this matter, according to our information. Discussions between the English club and the Brazilian’s entourage have begun.’
