Real Madrid star misses international training to attend funeral | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was a notable absentee from the England national team’s latest training session on Monday.

This comes with the 21-year-old having been required to attend a funeral.

Bellingham was afforded an expected call-up late last month, as England kicked into gear the country’s latest round of fixtures.

The midfielder was, in turn, in from the off over the weekend, as the Three Lions put Andorra to the sword by a goal to nil in a World Cup qualifier.

24 hours out from a friendly meeting with Senegal, though, Bellingham was, as alluded to above, nowhere to be seen in Thomas Tuchel’s camp.

And an explanation for as much has since been provided, by England themselves.

As per a statement released across the nation’s social media platforms on Monday:

’24 players are out training at St. George’s Park this afternoon. Jude Bellingham is absent to attend a family funeral and will return to camp later today.’
