A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week seen his stellar recent efforts recognised when it comes to value on the transfer market.

The player in question? Raúl Asencio.

Defender Asencio is for his part of course in the midst of nothing short of an explosion onto the world stage of football.

Afforded a chance to impress owing only to an injury crisis at the heart of Real Madrid’s backline, the 22-year-old has since taken full advantage, and more.

Alongside Antonio Rüdiger, Asencio has quickly established himself as the most reliable defensive performer in Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded squad.

Despite his tender years and relative inexperience at senior level, the defender has looked completely unphased by the leap in demands, shining both in and out of possession.

And as alluded to above, fresh off his first senior international call-up on the part of Spain, Asencio has this week seen his form rewarded once more.

This comes by way of a major increase in transfer value.

As per market experts transfermarkt, after previously being considered as worth €7.5 million, Asencio’s valuation has jumped to €30 million.
