According to a report from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Real Madrid are prepared to cash in on Rodrygo, with the Brazilian forward no longer guaranteed minutes under Xabi Alonso and slipping down the pecking order.
The 24-year-old has, thus far, not formally asked to leave the club, but his frustration has been clear – highlighted by 90 minutes spent on the bench in Tuesday’s match against Osasuna.
Indeed, the attacker did not get any minutes on the field against Osasuna last night, with Alonso turning to youngsters like Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono instead.
As such, the report states that Rodrygo has decided that it is time for him to move on and Real Madrid, for their part, are ready to open the doors for his exit.
It is further claimed that Rodrygo’s preference has always been a move to the Premier League, despite interest from Saudi side Al Nassr.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been credited with interest in the Brazilian international at some point this summer.
However, so far, no official bids have reached club president Florentino Perez’s desk.
Reports earlier today indicated that the upcoming game against Real Oviedo, later this weekend, could be crucial in clarifying the situation surrounding Rodrygo.
However, as per Tavolieri, sources at the Santiago Bernabeu confirm that Real Madrid’s hierarchy have decided to sell the former Santos FC Prodigy, who has been at the club since 2019.
The only question now is which of the aforementioned Premier League clubs will step forward with a concrete offer.
