Real Madrid star drawn on Barcelona’s failed Nico Williams pursuit | OneFootball

A headline member of the midfield ranks at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid was in the early hours of Saturday drawn on arch rivals Barcelona’s failure to land chief transfer target Nico Williams.

The Nico saga, of course, took its place front and centre in the headlines across Spain once more over the last 24 hours.

As much came after the 22-year-old dropped nothing short of a bombshell on the aforementioned Barcelona.

With an agreement on the terms of a contract with the Blaugrana already in place, Nico, out of the blue, put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with Athletic Club.

The news sent shockwaves across Spanish football, with the widespread expectation having been that the explosive winger would be wearing Barca colours next season.

During an exchange with the media early on Saturday, the subject of the saga’s surprise outcome, in turn, was put to Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.

Safe to say, however, that the Englishman appeared unbothered, in responding:

“I don’t care. It’s not about Real Madrid, so I don’t care.”
