Real Madrid star could be handed a surprise start vs Real Oviedo | OneFootball

A member of the summer recruitment drive at La Liga giants Real Madrid could be in line for his first start in the club’s colours this weekend.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Franco Mastantuono as the player in question.

Youngster Mastantuono is for his part of course fresh off taking to the pitch in the colours of Real Madrid for the very first time.

En route to Los Blancos’ opening day La Liga victory over Osasuna, the Argentine was introduced to proceedings off the bench during the 2nd-half.

And if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, Mastantuono evidently did enough to impress new manager Xabi Alonso with his showing in the clash.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of AS that:

‘Alonso is considering speeding up what seems inevitable: handing the number 30 a starting spot this Sunday at the Carlos Tartiere.’

Should Mastantuono be afforded as much, he would be expected to take to the pitch against Oviedo from a right wing berth.
