Real Madrid have set an asking price of €90m (£76.9m) for Arsenal target Rodrygo.

The Brazil international is considering an exit from Real Madrid after becoming frustrated with his role at the Bernabeu.

Rodrygo has featured predominantly from the right for the Spanish side and has struggled for prominence amid the presence of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.

The 24-year-old is weighing up his options, given a desire to feature in his preferred left-wing position and for increased status.

Arsenal have ‘genuine transfer interest’ in €90m Rodrygo

Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Arsenal have a ‘genuine interest’ in Rodrygo and have held ‘exploratory talks’ to discuss a transfer.

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso this week talked down suggestions the player could leave, but the La Liga giants will reportedly consider offers of around €90m.

Rodrygo is viewed as an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli in the Arsenal attack, as the Gunners look to add goals and creativity in the final third.

Mikel Arteta is seeking to refresh his forward line this summer with Arsenal also chasing a centre-forward. The club have held discussions for both RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres.

Rodrygo joined Real Madrid from Santos in 2019 and has since won three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies among his honours. He has scored 68 goals in 267 games for the club, including 14 in all competitions last season.

Gabriel urges Arsenal to sign ‘phenomenon’ Rodrygo

Arsenal centre-back Gabriel has given his backing to the signing of Rodrygo. Speaking on the ‘Podpah podcast’ he called his Brazil teammate a phenomenon.

“I don’t. No, I don’t, not really,’ Gabriel said when asked if Arsenal were looking to sign Rodrygo.

“But I’d like obviously. Rodrygo is a phenomenon, for me. He’s not at Arsenal… If it depended on me, I’ve told people already, he’s a phenomenon.

“His name is mentioned a lot. If it was up to me, of course.”
