Real Madrid have finally made a clear decision that they will not bring in a new midfielder this summer.

This is because, according to a report from AS, the club feels that the players currently available in the transfer market simply do not meet their expectations or needs.

Although Madrid have already strengthened their defence and made some adjustments in attack, many believed the next step would be to focus on midfield.

After all, one of the team’s biggest issues last season was moving the ball forward smoothly from the back.

They often struggled to control possession, especially against sides that, on paper, were far less threatening. The absence of Toni Kroos, who retired last year, was deeply felt in this regard.

Without Kroos, Real Madrid appeared to lose their rhythm and control in midfield, and it seemed likely they would try to address that gap in this transfer window.

However, the club has not acted and now it seems they won’t. The reason is simple: they don’t see any midfielders on the market who fit what they’re looking for.

One name that stood out was Rodri, a player the club had admired for some time. However, the Spaniard suffered a major setback with a cruciate ligament injury.

Add to that his age (29) and the fact that Man City are ready to offer him a new contact, and the move now seems off the table.

As a result, Real Madrid are not interested in making signings just for the sake of it, as the club believes in the potential of the current squad.

There is strong confidence in the improvement of Aurelien Tchouameni, and also in Arda Güler, who is being developed into a more central role.
