The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have opted against pursuing a deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah.
That’s according to Marca, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the latest ongoings behind the scenes in the Spanish capital.
The name of defender Tah has of course positioned itself front and centre in the transfer headlines across the continent for some time now.
This comes ahead of the expiration of the German international’s contract at the BayArena upon the close of the campaign.
The aforementioned Real Madrid, for one, have been tipped as a potential landing spot by a whole host of sources.
Amid a mounting injury crisis at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s backline, Los Blancos have even been tipped to launch a January assault on his signature.
If the latest word to have surfaced in Spain on Sunday is anything to go by, however, then no such move will be forthcoming.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Bayer Leverkusen and Germany centre-back Tah has been offered’ to the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu, amid efforts on the part of Leverkusen to keep the 28-year-old away from Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.
The response on the part of Real, however, has been negative, with ‘no plans having been made to sign Tah’.
