Leny Yoro is a top target for Real Madrid this summer, with the Merengues eager to sign him as a replacement for departed former captain Nacho Fernandez.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise in stature over the past year or so at LOSC Lille and has become one of the most sought-after defenders this summer.

The fact that his contract with Lille expires in 2025 makes him an even more enticing option with clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, and PSG also vying for his signing apart from Real Madrid.

Leny Yoro will not renew

With the situation being as it is, Fabrizio Romano has now come forward with an update on Yoro and Real Madrid’s pursuit of him.

As per the report, the strategy on the player’s part is clear – he is only prioritising a move for Real Madrid and is not looking at any other options at this point.

Furthermore, Yoro also does not plan on signing a new contract with Lille either which provides the Merengues an advantage in negotiations.

After all, with Yoro unwilling to renew, Lille will be forced to sell him this summer to avoid the risk of losing him for free in 2025 when his deal runs out.

As such, the Ligue 1 club must lower their transfer fee demands which plays into the hands of Real Madrid who are unwilling to shell out more than €40 million to sign Yoro.

Both clubs are understood to be in negotiations already with Real Madrid hoping to reach an agreement at the earliest possible.

As far as other suitors like Liverpool and PSG are concerned, they have been made aware that Yoro sees Real Madrid as a priority. The only way they can sign the 18-year-old is if the move to the Bernabeu collapses.
