Real Madrid secured their first win of the Xabi Alonso era as they dismantled Pachuca 3-1 in their second group game at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Things started on a rocky note when Raúl Asencio was sent off in the seventh minute for hauling down Salomón Rondón, leaving Los Blancos to battle with 10 men for over 80 minutes.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, they weathered early pressure - especially thanks to Thibaut Courtois - and struck first through Jude Bellingham just before halftime, with Arda Güler then doubling their lead.

Federico Valverde sealed the result early in the second half after a swift counter, and although Pachuca managed a late consolation goal, Madrid held firm to secure a crucial victory.
