La Liga giants Real Madrid have made known their financial demands for a somewhat forgotten member of the club’s backline.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Ferland Mendy as the player in question.

Defender Mendy is for his part sidelined long-term at present, owing to a muscular injury suffered early in the Copa del Rey final back in April.

And if the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, then as much could mark tthe Frenchman’s very last appearance in the colours of Real Madrid.

As confirmed by AS, those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu are giving consideration to Mendy’s sale this summer.

Following the arrival of Álvaro Carreras, it is now a straight fight between Mendy and Fran García for backup duties.

The latter, after some impressive performances at the Club World Cup, is understood to boast the edge at present.

It is therefore concluded that, in the case of an offer in the region of €14 million arriving for Mendy, Real Madrid could open the door to a sale.
