Real Madrid midfield superstar Jude Bellingham has been playing with a shoulder problem for well over a year now.
The England international first picked up the injury during his first season at the club, in late 2023, but opted against undergoing surgery.
Having played on with discomfort for more than a year and a half, the 21-year-old recently admitted that he can no longer avoid the operation.
It was reported that Bellingham would undergo surgery soon after the FIFA Club World Cup came to an end in the United States of America.
Now, according to journalist Alberto Pereiro, the Real Madrid talisman will be operated on today in London.

Both the player and the club will hope that the surgery goes without any problems, so that the former Borussia Dortmund ace can soon begin his rehabilitation.
As has already been reported, Bellingham will face a period of three to four months out on the sidelines after his surgery, meaning he will definitely miss the start of the new season.
If everything goes according to plans, the England international could return to training in mid-October, following which he can be eased back into action by manager Xabi Alonso.
Since joining Real Madrid in 2023, Bellingham has developed into one of the most important players in the team.
As such, his extended absence for over three months will come as a major blow to Alonso and Real Madrid, who will hope that the likes of Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz step up in the Englishman’s absence.
