Joan Martinez has officially signed his new contract with Real Madrid, as reported by MARCA.

The 17-year-old centre-back, who has been regarded as one of the brightest talents in the club’s youth system, completed the formal signing today after negotiations that began in early August and were concluded in September.

The outlet suggests that the signing ceremony took place at Real Madrid’s offices, marking an important milestone for both the player and the club.

Martinez has been a standout performer during Real Madrid’s pre-season, catching the attention of head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian manager was impressed with his performances and saw potential in Martinez, pushing for his inclusion in the team this season to address the club’s limited options at centre-back.

By securing this contract renewal, Real Madrid have ensured the player’s continued development within the club’s system.

The agreement significantly improves his conditions as a youth player and includes a release clause set at over €50 million.

This clause is intended to safeguard his future at the club while they prepare for him to transition to a first-team role once he turns 18 in August 2025.

Meanwhile, despite suffering a serious setback with a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee, Real Madrid remain fully committed to his recovery. His injury, which is currently keeping him out of action, has not altered the club’s plans for him.

He had been set to begin his second season under the guidance of Alvaro Arbeloa in the Under-19s, while also being part of the first team’s dynamics.

Once he recovers from his injury, Martinez will resume his progress with the first team, as Real Madrid views him as a key player for the future.
