The coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid do not intend to incorporate a returning member of the club’s loan ranks into the first-team setup for next season.

This comes despite the hopes of the player himself.

The individual in question? Jesús Vallejo.

Defender Vallejo, for his part, is fresh off yet another temporary spell away from Spain’s capital, on this occasion with Granada.

A difficult campaign, which saw his efforts hampered by a host of fitness issues, however, saw the 27-year-old manage a paltry three appearances.

Despite as much, Vallejo is understood to hold out hope of carving out a place for himself back at Real Madrid next season, amid something of a shortage of options at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s backline.

That’s according to Relevo, who have also confirmed, however, that as much has already been all but ruled out:

‘The technical staff plans the season with Rüdiger, Militao, Alaba, Tchouameni as a resource in the central position and the signing of Leny Yoro.’

Vallejo, as a result, will likely be left with little choice but to seek out a new club once more.
