While Barcelona have begun the new season flying with five wins in as many matches, Real Madrid have been far from their best.

With three wins in five league games, Los Blancos are not far off in terms of results. It is, however, the quality on the field that has been worrying.

The international break was thought to be the hiatus Real Madrid required to unwind and come back stronger but the team’s performance against Real Sociedad after the break was anything but encouraging.

The 2-0 result projects an unrealistic picture of the game for it was the men in white who were under serious pressure and should have lost on the night.

Ancelotti is alert and pushing for a change

As revealed in a recent update by MARCA, Carlo Ancelotti was very honest with himself after the team’s win over Real Sociedad.

The Italian tactician felt and believed that his team did not do more than the hosts on the night to deserve the win and that the result was undeserved.

The report furthers that Ancelotti understands that in football, it is the result and not the dominance on the field that matters.

However, he did not like his team’s play and certain mistakes have been continually repeated since the beginning of the season.

Ancelotti is thus determined to turn Real Madrid’s situation around and bring back the team’s missing fire on the field. He and his staff believe that the team can be much better and are analysing the situation.

As it stands, a new formation cannot be ruled out as it is clear that the current dynamic is not bringing the best out of players either individually or as a collective.

It will thus be interesting to see what the coach has in store later tonight.

From the club offices, the message is to stay calm and unfazed by the start of the season. There is time to turn a new leaf but the management believes it must come now, starting from the game later tonight against Stuttgart.

With Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni back from injury, it remains to be seen how the team turn up at the Santiago Bernabeu tonight and whether the manager makes any tactical adjustments.
