Real Betis reject Bundesliga transfer approach | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Betis have this week knocked back a formal approach on the part of Stuttgart for a member of the club’s midfield ranks.

That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Sergi Altimira as the player in question.

The name of midfielder Altimira first emerged as a prominent one in the transfer chatter across Europe earlier this year.

As much came after word was forthcoming that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City had set their sights on the signature of the 24-year-old.

In the end, no deal was found between the Sky Blues and their Betis counterparts, after the latter made clear their stance that Altimira is simply not for sale.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of the board at the Villamarín this week rejecting a fresh assault on the Spaniard’s signature.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Real Betis have rejected formal approach from Stuttgart for talented midfielder Sergi Altimira. No intention to sell him, seen as huge talent with also calls from Eintracht Frankfurt turned down early August.’
