Young central defender Lucas Noubi lands in Spain to begin a new chapter with RC Deportivo.

Lucas Noubi has officially joined RC Deportivo as of Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The Belgian-Cameroonian centre-back leaves Standard Liège of the Pro League to sign a four-year deal with the Spanish second division side, tying him to the club until 2029.

Arriving at Standard Liège's academy at the age of 10, Lucas Noubi worked his way up through every level of the Liège club (U15, U17, and U21 reserves) before signing his first professional contract in 2022 and joining the first team. He made his senior debut at 17 on March 13, 2022, and racked up 31 appearances in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League. After a decade with Les Rouches, the Belgian-Cameroonian has decided to move on and embark on a new journey with Deportivo La Coruña.

“After 11 years at this club, my adventure with Standard Liège comes to an end. It’s hard to find the words to say goodbye to what has been much more than a club for me—it has been my second home.
