RBL wrap up Brazil tour with 3-1 win over Santos | OneFootball

RB Leipzig brought their 2024/25 season to a close with an impressive 3-1 win over Santos FC, sealing a successful Brazil tour with a well-earned victory.

Xavi opened the scoring in the 15th minute, albeit with a bit of help. After a short corner, he took a shot from distance, and a slight deflection off Christoph Baumgartner sent the ball into the net to make it 1-0. Just before the break, there was more action: Ze Ivaldo struck the post with a thunderbolt from distance, channelling his inner Lúcio. Neymar, meanwhile, had a quiet game and was substituted at half-time.

After the break, head coach Zsolt Löw rang the changes, and it paid off instantly. Straight from the restart, Antonio Nusa charged down the right, squared smartly, and Lois Openda coolly slotted into the bottom corner (59’). Just five minutes later, Xavi doubled his tally, creating a bit of space and firing a low shot inside the near post for 3-0. Santos did pull one back in the 70th minute, with Hyan tapping in after a slick move down the left. But that was the last major action of the match.

It ended in a deserved 3-1 win – and a strong finish to our Brazil tour!
