Arsenal clashed heads with Liverpool at Anfield earlier this evening as they focused on grinding out a win on the road in the Premier League. The Gunners made a solid start to the contest and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Mikel Arteta’s men ended up conceding the opener in the 83rd minute when Dominik Szoboszlai scored with a wonderful free-kick. The match finished with Arsenal suffering a tough 1-0 defeat at Merseyside.

Raya made a couple of solid saves at the back but couldn’t do much about Szoboszlai’s free-kick late in the game.

RB: Jurrien Timber – 6.5/10

He didn’t give away much defensively and made one key chance going forward.

CB: William Saliba – 6.5/10

The French talent picked up an injury and had to be replaced in the fourth minute.

CB: Gabriel – 6.5/10

He cleared the danger when needed but failed to keep a clean sheet this evening.

LB: Riccardo Calafiori – 6.5/10

Calafiori performed his defensive duties well but lacked quality in the final third.

CM: Mikel Merino – 6.5/10

He got stuck in with a few solid tackles but failed to influence the game in the Liverpool half.

CM: Martin Zubimendi – 6/10

Zubimendi earned possession back once but struggled to get a foothold in the game.

CM: Declan Rice – 7/10

The England international was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch. He offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and had a couple of bright moments going forward.

RW: Noni Madueke – 6.5/10

He got himself into some dangerous areas in the final third but lacked composure in front of goal.

ST: Viktor Gyokeres – 6/10

Gyokeres made two inviting chances for his teammates but failed to threaten the Liverpool goal.

LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 6/10

Martinelli struggled to impress in the opponent’s half and was replaced in the 69th minute.

He was a rock at the back for most of his time on the field.

CM: Martin Odegaard – 6/10

Odegaard failed to make a difference after coming off the bench.
