Rangers are one of the clubs interested in recruiting the services of Aston Villa left-back Alex Moreno this summer, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.
Rangers manager Russell Martin needs to sign another left-back as Jefte and Ridvan Yilmaz could both leave the Ibrox club in the coming days.
The Villa star has now emerged as one of the options to replace them.
Moreno spent last season at Nottingham Forest as he is not in the plans of Villans manager Unai Emery, but whether a move to join the Bears in the Scottish Premiership appeals to him is unknown.
The 32-year-old Rangers target, who has played 55 Premier League games, is also wanted by Real Betis and Girona, while Leeds have been linked too.
The Light Blues want more quality additions, and the ‘brilliant’ and versatile Moreno could be a perfect signing.
He can also feature as a left winger, with dribbling and intercepting the ball being some of his major strengths.
Rangers could do with his ball-playing qualities at both ends of the pitch, but the finances to get a deal done could make a move for him tricky.
Real Sociedad and Burnley are also keen on the services of Moreno, but Champions League football at Ibrox could lure the Villa star to join the Light Blues.
Rangers are in play-offs of the qualifying phase of the elite European competition, where they will face Club Brugge for a spot in the league phase of the main competition.
They saw off Panathinaikos and Viktoria Plzen in the second qualifying round and third qualifying round, respectively, to book a place in the last phase of the qualifiers.
Advancing at the expense of the Belgian club could boost their chances of landing Moreno and other targets.
Lyall Cameron, Djeidi Gassama, Thelo Aasgaard, Manny Fernandez, Nasser Djiga, Max Aarons, Mikey Moore, Joe Rothwell, Oliver Antman and Oscar Cortes have all joined Rangers so far, but a few more additions could be on the cards.
