As Rangers prepare for the 2025/26 season, the club is actively pursuing several transfer targets to strengthen their squad and mount a serious challenge for domestic honours. With a potential £20–25 million transfer budget, bolstered by the anticipated 49ers Enterprises takeover, the Ibrox side is poised for a significant summer overhaul.
One prominent name linked with Rangers is Bobby Clark, the 19-year-old midfielder currently at Red Bull Salzburg. After a challenging season in Austria, where he struggled for game time and reportedly clashed with the manager, Clark is expected to be available for a loan move. Rangers, who previously showed interest in January, are likely to monitor his situation closely.
In attack, securing a permanent deal for on-loan winger Vaclav Černý is a priority. The Czech international has impressed during his stint from Wolfsburg, but financial constraints could complicate a full transfer. Meanwhile, striker Hamza Igamane has attracted attention from La Liga side Sevilla, who are reportedly preparing a £10 million bid. Given Igamane’s impressive tally of nine league goals and four in European competitions, Rangers may face a tough decision regarding his future.
Defensively, the club has shown interest in Burnley’s Hjalmar Ekdal. The 26-year-old Swedish centre-back, who has struggled with injuries, is available for loan, and Rangers have reportedly made contact regarding a potential move. However, a proposed short-term deal for veteran Jonny Evans was dismissed by ex-manager Philippe Clement, who preferred younger options to rejuvenate the backline.
Domestically, Rangers are eyeing Motherwell’s 18-year-old midfielder Lennon Miller. With over 50 first-team appearances, Miller has attracted interest from both Rangers and Celtic. Motherwell is reportedly seeking a record-breaking fee of at least £4 million for the young talent.
Additionally, Rangers have secured the signing of Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron on a pre-contract agreement. The 21-year-old is set to join the Ibrox outfit at the end of the season, adding depth to the midfield ranks.
With several players potentially departing, including captain James Tavernier, who is reportedly nearing the end of his Rangers tenure, the club’s recruitment strategy will be crucial in shaping a squad capable of competing on all fronts in the upcoming season.
