Spain and Switzerland are just an hour away from kick-off in Bern for their Women's EURO quarter-final clash.

In the aftermath of England's stunning comeback penalty shootout win over Sweden yesterday evening, can returning star midfielder Aitana Bonmatí lead La Roja into the last four, or will La Nati secure a shock result in front of home support?

FULL-TIME SCORE

FULL-TIME!

Spain are into the semi-final of the Women's EURO - for the first time since 1997 -  after a dominant 2-0 win on the night in Bern against hosts Switzerland as they await the winner of France vs Germany tomorrow!

RED CARD

A straight red and sending off for Switzerland's Noelle Maritz compounds the evening for the hosts as they will finish the night one down.

DENIED!!

A second miss from the spot on the night from Spain as it remains 2-0 with just two minutes remaining in normal time!

PENALTY!

Spain can put this on ice here...

Announcement of a new record across all four quarter-final matches at the Women's EURO, with the combined crowd hitting nearly 80,000. A supreme advert for Women's football.

Two further changes from Spain:

Vicky Lopez and Salma Paralluelo replace Claudia Pina and Esther González

Another change from Switzerland here.

Nadine Riesen comes off for Leila Wandeler.

GOAL!!

That's a second for Spain, with a bit of controversy on top of it all, after Wälti was dispossessed before Pina finally picked out the top corner to beat Peng from range.

But was that a foul on the Swiss star just before the goal?!

GOAL!!!!

And we finally have lift-off as the World Champions bag the first goal of the night in the 66th minute with a calm and collected finish from substitute Athenea del Castillo!

Changes for both sides here just after the hour mark:

Alayah Pilgrim replaces Noemi Ivelj for Switzerland.

Leila Ouahabi and Athenea del Castillo come on for Spain in place of Olga Carmona and Mariona Caldentey

GOAL LINE SCRAMBLE!!

Spain, again, come so close!

First, La Roja hit the post from a floating header, and then a second attempt cleared off the line after again hitting the post to deny them an opener!

How long will this last?!

CHANCE!

Guess who! Pina flashes a drive wide and wide of Peng's post as the Swiss continue to defend with all they have to keep Spain out as we approach the hour-mark

A look at some of the numbers across the evening so far, and it's well and truly been one-way traffic at Stadion Wankdorf.

As it stands, there looks to be only one eventual winner, but anything is possible in football.

We're back underway for the second half, with neither side making any changes during the interval.

OFF THE POST!

Spain again nearly find the opening goal on the night, this time from a header inside the box after Irene Paredes was left unmarked on a corner, but she could only ring her effort off the woodwork!

Less than five minutes left before the half-time interval. Will either side find a breakthrough here?

Swiss starlet Sydney Schertenleib limped off the pitch under her own power after going down with a potential knock. It would be a huge blow to their chances if she's subbed off.

Pina, again, is intent on getting herself on the scoresheet here, with a half-chance from range only rolling harmlessly wide of Peng's post.

A darting run from Pina presents the Barça winger with another chance from outside the box, but she can only hit her effort comfortably at Peng.

Spain are starting to really open up in the final third here, and a goal could be on the cards sooner rather than later.

CHANCE!

A brilliant save from Livia Peng denies Claudia Pina a top-bins hit off a set piece to keep the scoreline level at nil-nil!

The anticipated tactical battle has already settled into the match fabric in Bern, as Spain's ball-dominance looks to turn the screws against a Swiss side that will undoubtedly look to counter across 90 minutes of action.

PENALTY MISS!

Spain star Mariona Caldentey fluffs a chance to put La Roja 1-0 up from the spot but can only shank her effort wide of the post in the wake of being brought down in the box by Nadine Riesen!

We are up and running in Bern, with Switzerland already crafting a half-chance from a long-range effort through veteran workhorse Lia Wälti

Both teams walk out on the pitch at Stadion Wankdorf ahead of the national anthems and kick-off in the final quater-final clash at the 2025 Women's EURO!

Have your say in the great food debate among fans in Bern!

Swiss players are living in the moment as kick-off is now less than 45 minutes away on home soil

Can Spain arrest their tournament demons tonight in a bid to reach the semi-final, or will the hosts knock out one of the top sides in the Women's game?

Spain and Switzerland have named their starting XIs for tonight's clash, and here is how the two sides will look on the pitch at Stadion Wankdorf.
