Chelsea are currently on a poor run of form which could cost them Champions League football and Jeff Stelling has shared where he thinks the Blues will finish.

Friday night’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton was arguably the worst performance of the season and it means Chelsea have only won two of their last nine league matches.

The Blues dropped to sixth over the weekend after Manchester City and Bournemouth both won, but they are just a point outside the top four, with the race for Champions League football very tight.

Stelling predicts where Chelsea finish

The Blues desperately need to qualify for the Champions League, even though Maresca has insisted he wasn’t told that was the target.

Chelsea could be handed a lifeline with fifth place potentially enough for qualification, although the Blues are sliding down the table fast.

Maresca is no doubt under pressure, but Chelsea are said to be happy with the job he’s doing and have sympathy for the current injury situation.

Pressure is on Maresca to get Chelsea back to winning ways.

Maresca’s men are now in a real battle to qualify for the Champions League, and John Obi Mikel has claimed it would be a disaster if the club missed out.

There are 13 games remaining starting with a difficult trip to Aston Villa on Saturday evening, and Stelling has had his say on where he thinks Chelsea will finish.

“I’m going Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth for my top five,” he told talkSPORT.

“I don’t see it happening for Chelsea. I don’t see where the goals are coming from. I think a lot of that belief has disappeared. So much depends on Cole Palmer.”

It certainly looks like belief has disappeared on the pitch and the Blues seem like they have run out of ideas, and right now it’s hard to see where the goals are coming from.

If the Blues are to qualify for the Champions League they have to start winning games again as soon as possible, and put a run together otherwise they will end up in the Europa League or Conference League again.
