Paris Saint-Germain welcome Aston Villa to the Parc des Princes in the Champions League quarter-finals tonight.
After beating Liverpool in the pervious round, PSG face another English obstacle in their path to a maiden Champions League success.
Luis Enrique’s side continue to dominate domestically and wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with six games to spare at the weekend. Attention now turns back to Europe and the club’s pursuit of an elusive Champions League crown.
PSG come up against one of the form teams in Europe right now. Villa have reached this stage of the competition for the first time since 1983 but have won seven straight games in all competitions. The French champions will also be aware of former manager Unai Emery, a specialist in knockout football with a record four Europa League triumphs on his résumé.
The hosts will be without Marquinhos for the first leg with the club captain suspended. The Brazilian was cautioned in both legs of the last-16 win over Liverpool and serves a one-game ban.
Lucas Beraldo and Presnel Kimpembe will compete to replace Marquinhos at centre-back. Enrique handed rests from the start to Ousmane Dembele, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves and Bradley Barcola at the weekend. All are expected to return to the starting side. Lee Kang-in is the only Paris Saint-Germain player ruled out by injury.
PSG predicted XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Pacho, Beraldo, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola.
Paris Saint-Germain host Aston Villa in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday 9th April 2025. Kick-off at the Parc des Princes is 20:00 BST.
In the UK, TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and Discovery+ are where you can watch PSG vs Aston Villa.
