Paris Saint-Germain left-back Thomas Cordier (19) is set to join Ligue 2 outfit Red Star FC, according to a report from L’Équipe.
The teenager, who won back-to-back U19 national titles with PSG, is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Saint-Ouen-based side. The two clubs are in the process of finalising the details of the transfer, which will reportedly include a sell-on clause in favour of PSG.
Cordier featured prominently in PSG’s UEFA Youth League campaign this season, starting all six of their group matches. He split his time between the U19s and the reserve squad but had not yet broken into Luis Enrique’s first-team setup.Red Star FC, a fellow Paris region club based in the northern suburbs of Saint-Ouen, will be looking to build on last season’s survival in Ligue 2 – having let go of many of their promotion heroes which saw the 127 year-old club return to the second tier for the first time in five years last season.
