With both sides hoping to rescue something from seasons that haven’t quite gone to plan, Tottenham and Manchester United head to Bilbao for Wednesday’s Europa League final.

For both clubs, winning in Spain isn’t just about silverware; it’s also the only way to secure European football next season.

Despite how poor things have been in the Premier League, Spurs still have a shot at ending the 2024–25 campaign with a big trophy – something they’ve been chasing for 17 years now.

They’ve won this competition twice back when it was still the UEFA Cup (1972 and 1984), so lifting the trophy again would see them become just the second English club, after Liverpool, to win it three times.

While Spurs are hoping to end a decades-long wait for European silverware, United are looking to recreate their 2017 success, when they beat Ajax in the final.

They also made it to another European final in 2021 but ended up losing to Villarreal on penalties.

The match will be broadcast live at 20:00 on TNT Sports 1.
