Head coach of the LA Galaxy, Greg Vanney, has declared that his team is healthy and ready to go. No player is expected to be on the sideline without the expectation to play. Except for midfielder Riqui Puig.

Injuries have been one of many reasons the defending champions are winless during the 2025 MLS regular season. A major overhaul of the roster, poor defense, and shaky goaltending have all contributed to the 0-3-7 record of the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The LA Galaxy and Sporting KC have had a history of memorable battles, despite these two teams being at the bottom of the MLS Western Conference.

How to watch the LA Galaxy vs Sporting KC game on Sunday?

Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. (Central Time) on Sunday, May 4th at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. All MLS games are streamed live on MLS Season Pass. The game will also be made available on Apple TV and Apple TV+.

Lifetime, the LA Galaxy have won 13 times, lost 15, and tied 17 times in regular season matches. The six-time MLS Cup winners won both games last year as they limited Sporting Kansas City to two goals in each contest.

Whats different about this season?

For starters, Dejan Joveljic is now with Sporting after being traded by the Galaxy. The Serbian forward scored in both matches. Midfielder Marky Delgado, who also scored in the first game between these two teams last season, has since been traded, too.

Gabriel Pec, Joseph Paintsil, Eriq Zavaleta, and Miguel Berry are still on the roster for Los Angeles. The first two players are expected to start alongside first-year Galaxy member Christian Ramirez.

Even without Joveljic's five scores this season, Sporting has more goals this season than the LA Galaxy. Dániel Sallói has four, Erik Thommy has two, while Manu García, Logan Ndenbe, Shapi Suleymanov, and Zorhan Bassong have one.

"You know I trust the guys, and I like them. I feel like we have some good moments and some good stretches and then we are a little shaky and we sometimes create our own issues and sometimes we have some tough moments. But I like our group. We've got to keep working and find the solutions inside of our group to help us turn the results around. "Greg Vanney, head coach of the LA Galaxy

Christian Ramirez is the only player for the LA Galaxy with more than one score. He has four as Pec, Diego Fagundez, Carlos Garces, and Marco Reus all have one a piece.

John McCarthy has not been playing strong in goal compared to last season. He allowed four goals last game out for the LA Galaxy against the visiting Portland Timbers. They also won 4-2 against the LA Galaxy last September.

If the LA Galaxy can't find their rhythm on offense and figure out how to defend properly, this could mark the eighth loss of their season. That's how many they had all last season (19-7-8) ahead of their sixth championship.
