Premier League Preview: The fans’ view – Tottenham Hotspur

What lessons need to be learned from last season?

Where to start? We did little to shake the Spursy jibes last season, losing seven games in the Premier League after leading. Vulnerable at set-pieces and unable to hold onto leads, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to work out how to beat us.

Hopefully Thomas Frank can sort that out…

What is your view on the manager?

I’ll be forever grateful to Ange Postecoglou for winning the Europa League last season but a change was right. We were so easy to play against and there were long periods of last season where going to the game was a feeling of dread.

Thomas Frank speaks well and worked wonders on a limited budget at Brentford. It will be interesting to see how he handles the step up and shopping in an entirely new market.

There will be some fans who will frown upon his long throw tactics etc, but if it wins us games, who cares?

What’s your verdict on the summer transfer window so far?

Fairly quiet, so far, but good business, I would say. Mohammed Kudus is the type of player that Spurs fans will love, and Joao Palhinha should make us harder to play against.

If we can keep other key cogs fit, mainly Romero and Van de Ven, we’ve got the backbone of a good side.

One player to watch from your club this season

Luka Vuskovic. He might go out on loan but I’d like to see him get minutes. The big defender scored for fun in Belgium last season.

Who is the most underrated player at your club?

Not by us, but I’d say Dejan Kulusevki by those outside Spurs circles. I think he could play for anyone.

The game you’re most looking forward to this season is?

Arsenal. It’s the best derby in the Premier League. Putting a dent in their title aspirations would be a sweet feeling.

What opposition player do you secretly admire?

I’m not a fan of his sulking this summer but, for me, Alexander Isak is the best striker in the league.

This season your team will finish…

5th. It will be tough to break up last season’s top four but here’s hoping.
