Premier League legend Roy Keane believes new signing Pedro Neto will add to the “chaos” at Chelsea because of his injury record.

Neto became Chelsea’s latest summer signing after he completed his £51.4m move from Wolves last weekend and was presented to the fans at half time against Inter Milan.

The move for Neto came out of the blue but it addresses Chelsea’s issue on the wings and adds more quality and Premier League experience to their ranks.

Keane not convinced on Neto signing

A number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham had expressed an interest in the Portugal international but he has signed a long term contract at Stamford Bridge and could make his debut against Manchester City on Sunday.

Neto can play on both wings which is a big plus for Chelsea and he provided nine assists in 20 Premier League appearances last season, with the Blues hopeful they will see more of that creative spark.

However, Keane isn’t convinced by the signing and feels he will just add to the chaos at Chelsea because of his injury record, and he was involved in a disagreement with Ian Wright on the latest edition of Stick to Football.

Neto joined Chelsea in a deal worth £51.4m.

The Arsenal legend said: “You know something, you know what is a great signing, Neto to Chelsea.”

However, Keane hit back and replied: “He’s always injured! He’s like Shaw.”

Wright refused to back and down and said: “Neto if he wasn’t injured. In a chaotic side like Chelsea, I really like Neto.”

To which Keane responded: “No, he’s going to add to the chaos. Run everywhere and six months on the treatment table, hamstring injury.”

Neto has suffered a number of injury issues during his time at Wolves and missed a large part of last season with a hamstring injury.

Chelsea once again suffered an injury crisis last season and will be hoping that isn’t the case this season and will want Neto to stay fit and contribute to the side.
