A massive day in La Liga arrives for FC Barcelona as they prepare for their biggest challenge yet. After defeating Bayern Munich with a 4-1 thrashing at the Montjuic Stadium, La Blaugrana now turn their attention from the Champions League to La Liga. Over in Spain, however, Barcelona are now set to take on Real Madrid.

For Hansi Flick’s team, a win over Real Madrid would be a massive step in the right direction and they will be aiming for just that. However, to make that possible, Barcelona will need to field a line-up that can hold its own against the very best in Europe.

Here is how Barcelona could line-up against Real Madrid.

Goalkeeper: Inaki Pena

The Spaniard was decent against Bayern Munich and gradually found some confidence in the game. Against Real Madrid, he should be taking the momentum from the last game into this upcoming encounter with his head held high.

Right-back: Jules Kounde

A brilliant display from Jules Kounde last time out and his entire consistency this season are enough to showcase just how integral he is to the Barcelona back line and to the team in general. His presence could be very important in this game to deal with Vinicius Jr.

Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi

The young Spaniard remains an undisputed starter for Hansi Flick and his place for the game against Real Madrid seems to be guaranteed as well. His ball-playing, positional awareness, and overall sense of the game will all be crucial elements in determining how he fares against Los Blancos.

Centre-back: Inigo Martinez

Despite being the most experienced central defender in the Barcelona back-line, Inigo Martinez manages to match up with his younger teammates in terms of intensity and drive. His role in Barça’s offside traps is always crucial, and against the likes of Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, he will need to be perfect once again.

Left-back: Alejandro Balde

The young Barcelona fullback continues to showcase why he is an effective component of this team even when his offensive contributions are not always there. His recovery speed allows him to get back in position and help out his back-line most of the time, and that could be quite important against Real Madrid.

CDM: Marc Casado

If the midfielders around him are renowned for their elegance on the ball, Marc Casado is the machine that helps them run. His recoveries, technical qualities, and immense work-rate are a key factor behind all the good work that Hansi Flick’s team has done this season.

CDM: Pedri

Flawless with his vision and perhaps even more elegant with his feet, Pedri ran the show against the Bavarians in his last outing. Now, up against a familiar foe in Real Madrid, the Spaniard will need to be at his very best yet again.

RAM: Lamine Yamal

Played around with Bayern Munich as if he was in a playground, Lamine Yamal continues to amaze and surprise. Despite still only being a 17-year-old teenager, the young Barcelona winger is regarded by many as one of the best wingers in the world overall, and for good reason. Next up for him is now a guaranteed start against Real Madrid.

CAM: Fermin Lopez

His high-intensity and efficiency game in handy against Bayern Munich and Hansi Flick will likely depend on him against Real Madrid as well. That position for the starting attacking midfielder remains up for grabs for both Lopez and Dani Olmo, but the young Olympic Gold medalist seems to be much more ready to start.

LAM: Raphinha

The hero of the hour for Barcelona, team captain and Brazil star Raphinha comes into this game against Real Madrid having scored a hattrick against Bayern Munich. In this upcoming game, he will be hoping to have just as much of an impact.

The Polish ace managed to get yet another goal in the UEFA Champions League in the last game, and the Barcelona striker will want to add even more numbers to his ever-increasing tally in La Liga this season as he aims for his second Pichichi title.
